MOTION TO APPROVE appointments of Mason Jackson and Jo-Ann Anstett to the Homeless Continuum of Care (HCOC) Board.

ACTION:  (T-10:28 AM)  Approved. 

VOTE: 8-0. 

Board approval is required to fill vacancies on the HCOC.

Fills two vacancies on the HCOC.

THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS/BOARDS SECTION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THIS ITEM.

The Homeless Continuum of Care Board (HCOC) is composed of 30 voting/nonvoting members, including 19 members who are nominated by specific entities for approval by the Board of County Commissioners. One voting member category provides for a CareerSource Broward representative to serve on the HCOC. Additionally, the Chairperson of the Homeless Provider and Stakeholders' Council also serves on the HCOC.

The following nominations have been received by the Human Services Department (HSD) for appointment to the HCOC pursuant to Section 12.153(a)4, Broward County Administrative Code:

Mr. Jackson was nominated by CareerSource Broward to serve on the HCOC on October 2, 2018. Ms. Anstett was nominated by the Homeless Provider and Stakeholders' Council on October 16, 2018. The County Attorney has determined that Mr. Jackson and Ms. Anstett qualify for appointment (Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2).
