Summary Explanation/Background
The Board amended the Broward County Business Opportunity Act, Section 1-81, Broward County Code of Ordinances, to require a CBE goal of at least 25% CBE participation, with limited exceptions. These exceptions include where such participation requirement would be prohibited by applicable law. This item allows for Board discussion of the applicability of the CBE participation goal requirement for projects funded by the Transportation Surtax, if approved by the electorate in the general election.
