Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2018-395 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of a Public Hearing to be held on September 25, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., to consider enactment of an Ordinance adopting a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan Natural Resource Map Series (PCNRM 18-1), as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, the substance of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE WETLANDS MAP OF THE NATURAL RESOURCE MAP SERIES OF THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

It is necessary to schedule a Public Hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to be held subsequent to receipt of a recommendation from the Broward County Planning Council prior to adoption of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a Public Hearing for September 25, 2018, to consider adoption of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan amendment PCNRM 18-1, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PCNRM 18-1, at its April 26, 2018, public hearing and recommended approval (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 16-0; Blattner, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Moraitis, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Ryan, Udine, Williams and Stermer) and also recommended approval at its August 23, 2018, public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 14-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Rich, Rosenof, Rosenzweig and Stermer):

AMENDMENT PCNRM 18-1
Amendment to the Wetlands Map of the Broward County Land Use Plan Natural Resource Map Series.

Further, if the County Commission sets the Public Hearing, the full amendment report and associated attachments will be included as exhibits to the public hearing item.
