Requested Action
MOTION TO APPROVE First Amendment to Agreement between Broward County and Deccan International Corporation (Deccan) for support and maintenance of Provider’s proprietary computer-aided dispatch (CAD) Analyst and Apparatus Deployment Analysis Module (ADAM) software applications utilized within the County’s regional public safety communications system, to extend the agreement for up to five additional one-year periods beyond the current contract expiration date of November 30, 2018, to delete and replace selected agreement language, and to increase the total not-to-exceed amount to $850,000; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.43, agreements that exceed five years required Board approval.
What Action Accomplishes
This action amends the Agreement by extending it for up to five additional one-year periods beyond the current contract expiration date of November 30, 2018, deletes and replaces select agreement language and increases the total not-to-exceed amount.

Summary Explanation/Background
On November 18, 2013, the County Administrator executed the Software License, Maintenance, and Support Agreement, providing maintenance and support services for Deccan's proprietary CAD Analyst and Apparatus Deployment Analysis Module (ADAM) applications. These proprietary applications are utilized by fire rescue agencies within Broward County with the goal of identifying improvements in response times for the delivery of fire and emergency medical services.
 
The proposed amendment extends the existing agreement for up to five one-year extension terms and increases the not-to-exceed amounts.
