Cocomar Water Control District Governing Board's approval is required for advisory board appointments pursuant to Broward County Code of Ordinances Section 30-563(b).

Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES/WATER MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL.

Cocomar Water Control District serves portions of the City of Coconut Creek, the City of Margate, the Municipal Services District and Seminole Tribe of Florida Trust Land as shown in Exhibit 1. The three-person Cocomar Water Control District Advisory Board reviews budget development and implementation information developed by County staff and submits a recommended budget to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.

The two-year term of Beale Tilton on the Cocomar Water Control District Advisory Board is expiring. He has agreed to continue serving on the Advisory Board. It is recommended that he be reappointed pursuant to Broward County Code of Ordinances Section 30-563(b).
 
Mr. Torres-Soto has submitted an application and resume as shown in Exhibit 2 to fill a vacancy created after Reddy Chitepu's term expires on September 8, 2018. Mr. Chitepu is not seeking reappointment. It is recommended that Mr. Torres-Soto be appointed pursuant to Broward County Code of Ordinances Section 30-563(b).
