A. MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2018-414 authorizing the Mayor to execute and file a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District 4, in the amount of $182,088, to provide funding for leases and other costs associated with Park and Rides for the I-95 Express Bus Service; authorizing the County Administrator to take necessary administrative and budgetary actions; and providing for an effective date. The term of this agreement is from date of execution by FDOT through December 31, 2021. There is no County match required.

B. Budget Resolutions require Board Approval.

Provides $182,088 in grant funding for park and ride leases and park & ride enhancements (signage, shelter, stops, etc.) for 95 Express bus service.

THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT AND TRANSIT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.

This item supports the Board's Visions and Value of "[C]ooperatively delivering an efficient and accessible regional intermodal transportation network."

Staff is requesting approval of a Joint Participation Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) that will provide $182,088 in capital funding for park and ride leases, enhancements, and other costs associated with park and ride lots (signage, shelter, stops, etc.) for I-95 Express Bus Service. Funds will be used for payment of leases for the various park and ride-related purposes, including, but not limited to: North Perry Airport and Pembroke Commons in the City of Pembroke Pines and Park Place in the City of Hollywood.

The JPA has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office. County approval of the Resolutions and execution of the JPA is required prior to FDOT executing said agreements.
