Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2018-348 of the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, Florida, accepting a donation from Friends of Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, a 501(c)3 corporation located in West Palm Beach, Florida, of a dog play-group enrichment seminar and training program, valued at $13,250; Authorizing the County Administrator to take all administrative and budgetary actions to implement same; providing for severability and an effective date.

VOTE: 9-0.

Section 18.63 of the Administrative Code states that donations to the County valued at $10,000 or more shall be accepted by a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners.

Authorizes the Animal Care and Adoption Division to accept a donation valued at $13,250.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Animal Care and Adoption Division ("ACAD") has received a generous donation from Friends of Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, of a dog play-group enrichment program called "Dogs Playing For Life", valued at $13,250, providing for an onsite seminar and training of ACAD staff for the purpose of bringing lifesaving play groups to animals at the ACAD shelter. Training has been scheduled to occur between August 7 and August 14.

The County Administrator is hereby authorized to take all administrative and budgetary actions and execute all forms required to implement acceptance of the donation.
