Summary Explanation/Background
In 2016, the Board of County Commissioners (the "Board"), through the Intergovernmental Affairs/Boards Section ("IABS"), conducted a review of all existing Broward County boards, authorities, and agencies pursuant to the Sunset Ordinance, Section 1-244, et seq., of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (the process is called "Sunset Review"). Following the Sunset Review, IABS recommended to the Board that the Homeless Continuum of Care Board ("HCOC") be retained with changes. On August 22, 2017, the Board directed the Office of the County Attorney to prepare an amendment to effectuate IABS's recommendations as modified by the Board.

An amendment previously requested by Mayor Furr has been withdrawn, and Senator Rich's amendment is now renumbered as Exhibit 3.
