Requested Action

A.  MOTION TO AUTHORIZE County Administrator to take any and all necessary actions as needed, including approval of Request for Proposals/Request for Qualifications/Request for Letters of Interest for advertisement, and final ranking approvals. 

(Per the Tuesday Morning Memorandum, the following request for approval was removed from the list of procurements to be approved by the County Administrator during summer recess:  “Motion to Approve the Final Ranking of the Broward County’s Medical Examiner’s and Broward Sheriff’s Office Crime Laboratory Facility.”)

(Transferred to the Consent Agenda.)

ACTION:  (T-10:24 AM)  Approved with the Yellow-Sheeted Additional Material, dated Tuesday, June 12, 2018, submitted at the request of the Finance and Administrative Services Department.
 
VOTE: 7-0.  Commissioners LaMarca and Ryan were not present.

B.  MOTION TO AUTHORIZE County Administrator to approve contract awards,  execute agreements, termination of agreements, and contract amendments, for projects listed in Exhibit 1, in excess of the current delegated authority of the County Administrator during the 2018 summer recess, June 13, 2018 through August 13, 2018. Any and all agreement and amendment approvals will be subject to the Office of the County Attorney approving as to legal sufficiency.

Why Action is Necessary
A. B. Board of County Commissioners’ approval is required to delegate authority to the County Administrator for select actions while the Board of County Commissioners is not in session during the 2018 summer recess.
What Action Accomplishes
A. B. Authorizes the County Administrator or the Director of Purchasing to take actions on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners as may be deemed necessary to ensure continuing progress on new and on-going projects while the Board of County Commissioners is not in session during the 2018 summer recess.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.

Exhibit 1 is the list of projects which will require action to be taken over the 2018 summer recess, which includes approval of Request for Proposals/Request for Qualifications/Request for Letters of Interest for advertisement, contract awards, approval and execution of agreements, termination of agreements, contract amendments, and final ranking approvals. The projects listed under the "Administrative Approval Action During Summer Break" are time sensitive, or critical to a project's critical path, delegation to the County Administrator by the Board of County Commissioners' during the upcoming 2018 (June 13, 2018 through August 13, 2018) summer break will ensure continuation of these projects. Any projects listed that are not approved or executed during the 2018 summer recess will be presented to the Board at future regular scheduled Board meetings.
