MOTION TO APPROVE Fifth Amendment to Lease between City of Hollywood (Landlord) and Broward County (Tenant) for approximately 2,500 square feet in the South Beach Community Center located at 1301 S. Ocean Drive in the City of Hollywood for a term of one year plus automatic one-year renewals at a rental rate of $1 per year to be used as the Hollywood Beach Bernice P. Oster Branch Library; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same. (Commission District 6)

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION/REAL PROPERTY SECTION AND LIBRARIES  DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

On August 17, 1993 (Item No. 22B), the Board of County Commissioners approved a Lease of Real Property between the City of Hollywood, as Landlord and Broward County, as Tenant, for the use of 2,500 square feet within the City-owned South Beach Community Center at a rental rate of $1 per year for the Hollywood Beach Bernice P. Oster Branch Library. The parties entered into subsequent amendments which extended the term to its current termination date of June 30, 2018. The proposed Fifth Amendment will extend the termination date of the existing lease to June 30, 2019 and provide for automatic annual renewals. All other terms and conditions of the lease remain the same.

Signature pages for the City will be substituted upon receipt.

All documents have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
