Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL

The Resolution will convey a triangularly-shaped road easement, measuring approximately 20 feet by 20 feet, from Housing Foundation of America, Inc. to Broward County, located at the northeast corner of NW 27th Avenue and NW 15th Court, both are County roads in the Broward Municipal Services District.  The easement is required to provide adequate sight distance for safety and to install traffic control devices and pedestrian enhancements at this intersection in the future.

The Resolution and road easement have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.

This item relates to activities in the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD). The BMSD consists of 11.4 square miles with a 2015 estimated population of 14,515.* The Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the BMSD and the provider of its municipal services that include but are not limited to business development, building permitting and housing development, libraries and parks facilities, roadway maintenance, street enhancements, and zoning and code enforcement.

*Population estimates were obtained from University of Florida, 2015 Bureau of Economic and Business Research and land area was generated by the Planning and Development Management Division GIS Section using the latest annexation information (September 2015).
