A. MOTION TO APPROVE agreement between Broward County and the City of Deerfield Beach allocating $3,000 in Safe Parks and Land Preservation Bond Program funds (“Safe Parks Funds”) to the City of Deerfield Beach to fund passive park items at the Branhilda Richardson-Knowles Memorial Park.

B. MOTION TO APPROVE agreement between Broward County and the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea allocating $10,000 in Safe Parks Funds to fund trees and park improvements for the Anglin Courtyard at Friedt Family Park. (Commissioner LaMarca)

Source of Additional Information
On November 7, 2017, the Board authorized District 4 to distribute its $58,000 of Safe Parks Funds among different projects. Specifically, the Board authorized the distribution of $3,000 to the City of Deerfield Beach, $10,000 to the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, $15,000 to the City of Lighthouse Point, and $10,000 to the City of Pompano Beach for different park projects. The Board also authorized the allocation of $20,000 to renovate an existing building at Deerfield Island Park.

The agreements with the City of Deerfield Beach (Exhibit 1) and the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea (Exhibit 2) in the amounts of $3,000 and $10,000, respectively, are now ready for execution by the Board.

Fiscal Impact
Fiscal Impact/Cost Summary:
The source of funds for the appropriation is the bond proceeds from the GOB Safe Parks and Land Preservation Bond Issue - Charge Point 3230-033-7300-6100.
