THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION, AND THE LIBRARIES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
In accordance with the procedures outlined in Volume 1 of the Administrative Code, Chapter 3, Part II, Section 3.10 - Travel, Board approval is required for 18 Libraries Division staff to attend the Florida Library Association Annual Conference (FLA Conference) in Orlando, Florida, from May 23 through May 25, 2018.
The FLA Conference will provide Libraries Division staff with invaluable learning opportunities. Attendance will enable Libraries staff to enhance their skills by networking and exchanging professional information with other public library professionals. Due to its proximity to Broward County, this conference affords all staff a greater opportunity to attend.
Total estimated travel cost is $14,019, of which $6,121 will be funded through donations made to the Broward County Library Trust Fund account and $7,898 will be funded by the County.
