THE OFFICE OF MEDICAL EXAMINER AND TRAUMA SERVICES RECOMMENDS APPROVAL.
Chapter 3½ of the Broward County Code of Ordinances identifies the process to which every person, firm, corporation, or association must adhere that provides or wishes to provide emergency medical interfacility transportation services within Broward County, Florida.
The Trauma Management Agency, a subsection of the Office of Medical Examiner and Trauma Services, acts as the designee of the County Administrator for the purpose of reviewing and processing of applications for Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity, including Class 1 - ALS Rescue services. The application process and monitoring of certified agencies are further promulgated through the rules and regulations set forth in Chapter 3½ of the Broward County Code and Chapter 33, Part II, Medical Transportation Rules and Regulations, of the Broward County Administrative Code. The full application, including attachments, is maintained by the Trauma Management Agency.
The Trauma Management Agency has received and reviewed the application from the Town of Hillsboro Beach, Florida for renewal of their COPCN to provide Class 1 - ALS Rescue services within Broward County, Florida. The Trauma Management Agency has found the above applicant to be in compliance with all County rules and regulations relating to the provision of Class 1 - ALS Rescue services. Pursuant to Section 3½-15(b), Broward County Code, the Trauma Management Agency has received no complaints concerning the actions of the above applicant, and will present the application to the Board for its consideration during the public hearing scheduled for May 22, 2018.
Pursuant to Chapter 3½, Section 6(f), of the Broward County Code, a public hearing must be held to consider the award or denial of said COPCN.
