Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ENACT Ordinance amending the Broward County Comprehensive Plan to adopt Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 18-1, regarding corrective amendments to the BrowardNext - Broward County Land Use Plan, the substance of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN TEXT REGARDING BROWARDNEXT - BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ACTION:  (T-10:57 AM)  Filed proof of publication and enacted the Ordinance to become effective as provided by law.

VOTE:  8-0.  Commissioner Sharief was not present.

Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 18-1 in accordance with Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

December 5, 2017 - County Commission approved transmittal of proposed amendment PCT 18-1 to State review agencies; and April 10, 2018 - Set adoption Public Hearing for April 24, 2018.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed text amendment, PCT 18-1, at its October 26, 2017, public hearing and recommended approval, (Vote of the Planning Council: Unanimous: 16-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Seiler, Udine, Williams and Stermer) and also recommended approval at its March 22, 2018, public hearing, (Vote of the Planning Council: Unanimous: 18-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Moraitis, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Ryan, Udine, Williams and Stermer).
