Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2018-092 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of a Public Hearing to be held on April 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., to consider enactment of an Ordinance adopting a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text (PCT 18-1), regarding corrective amendments to the BrowardNext - Broward County Land Use Plan, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, the substance of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN TEXT REGARDING BROWARDNEXT - BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ACTION:  (T-11:18 AM)  Approved.
 
VOTE: 9-0.

It is necessary to schedule a Public Hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to be held subsequent to receipt of a recommendation from the Broward County Planning Council prior to adoption of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a Public Hearing for April 24, 2018, to consider adoption of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 18-1, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan.

December 5, 2017 - The County Commission approved transmittal of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment PCT 18-1 to designated State review agencies.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed text amendment, PCT 18-1, at its October 26, 2017, public hearing and recommended approval (Vote of the Planning Council: Unanimous; 16-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Seiler, Udine, Williams and Stermer) and also recommended approval at its March 22, 2018, public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council: Unanimous; 18-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Moraitis, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Ryan, Udine,  Williams and Stermer).
