MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2018-097 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on April 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., to consider transmittal to designated State review agencies of a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text (PCT 18-4), regarding hydraulic fracturing, i.e. "Fracking," as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

ACTION:  (T-11:18 AM)  Approved.
 
VOTE: 9-0.

It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners prior to transmittal of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for April 24, 2018, to consider transmittal of proposed text amendment PCT 18-4, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed text amendment, PCT 18-4, at its March 22, 2018, public hearing and recommended approval(Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 18-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Moraitis, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Ryan, Udine, Williams and Stermer):
