Summary Explanation/Background
At the February 22nd workshop of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, the Board discussed a comprehensive task force and after-action review of all aspects of the Parkland tragedy. This holistic report would bring together all agencies to determine how information could be better shared, and where we need improved coordination among different governmental entities and agencies. Broward County government is responsible for a proper emergency response. In an event like this, the complex ties of various agencies generate questions about how these disparate agencies can work together in a cohesive way to share information and prevent a tragedy like this from ever happening again.

This item is intended to continue our conversation from the February 22nd workshop and direct the next steps for action. It will provide a sense of what the Board wants to see from this task force and report, and provide proper direction to the County Administrator on next steps.
