Summary Explanation/Background
THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT/RISK MANAGEMENT DIVISION APPROVES THE ABOVE MOTION.

Work Authorization No. 22, approved under the Purchasing Director’s award authority for professional services on December 6, 2016, authorized the environmental consultant, EE&G Environmental Services, LLC, to allow qualified vendors to provide environmental consultant services for the Risk Management Division. The initial work authorization was in the amount of $105,000.

To meet the demand of inspection services and the higher volume of indoor air quality requests contributed during the first year of conducting proactive building inspections, the Risk Management Division requires additional funding to be allocated to the original Work Authorization No. 22.

The First Amendment to Work Authorization No. 22, in accordance with the agreement between Broward County and EE&G Environmental Services, LLC (Solicitation No. F1154201B1), provides for an increase of $150,000 for additional environmental services for indoor air quality inspections. The Amendment will increase the maximum not-to-exceed amount from $105,000 to $255,000 for the remainder of the contract, which expires December of 2019.

A Sunshine meeting was held for the First Amendment to Work Authorization No. 22 on January 3, 2018, to establish the scope and fee for environmental services through the end of the contract term. The amounts referenced in this agenda have been rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
