Summary Explanation/Background
THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS/BOARDS SECTION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THIS ITEM.

The Homeless Continuum of Care Board (HCOC) is composed of 29 voting/nonvoting members, including 20 members who are nominated by specific entities for approval by the Board of County Commissioners. One voting member category provides for a Broward County Housing Authority representative to serve on the HCOC.

The following nomination has been received by the Human Services Department (HSD) for appointment to the HCOC pursuant to Section 12.153(a)4, Broward County Administrative Code:
  • Tiffany Garcia nominated as the Broward County Housing Authority Representative.
Ms. Garcia was nominated by the Broward County Housing Authority to serve on the HCOC on October 27, 2017. The County Attorney has determined that Ms. Garcia qualifies for appointment. See Exhibit 1 attached.
