MOTION TO APPROVE Revocable License Agreement between Broward County and the City of Coconut Creek for installation and maintenance of a City entranceway sign within County right-of-way in the median of Lyons Road approximately 3,192 feet north of Hillsboro Boulevard, at no cost to the County; and authorize Mayor and Clerk to execute same. (Commission District 2)

Board of County Commissioners' approval is required for revocable license agreements.

Formalizes the responsibilities of the City of Coconut Creek regarding installation and maintenance of a City entranceway sign in County right-of-way.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL.

Lyons Road is a County road in the City of Coconut Creek. The City desires to install a city-entranceway sign within County right-of-way in the median of Lyons Road approximately 3,192 feet north of Hillsboro Boulevard. The revocable license agreement will allow the City to install the sign within County right-of-way and will obligate the City to maintain the sign. The agreement also allows the County to terminate the agreement with or without cause at any time. If the agreement is terminated, the City must remove all improvements within the licensed right-of-way and restore the property. The City executed the agreement on October 25, 2017 and subsequently, provided all required documents to the County in November 2017, and this agreement is now ready for the Board of County Commissioners’ consideration.

The agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney and the Risk Management Division.
