Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2017-556 to transmit a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan map (PC 18-2), in the City of Miramar, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended (Commission District 8), the substance of which is as follows:

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, TRANSMITTING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN OF THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF MIRAMAR TO DESIGNATED STATE AGENCIES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ACTION:  (T-11:01 AM)  Approved with the Purple-Sheeted Additional Material, dated Tuesday, December 5, 2017, submitted at the request of the Planning Council.  (Refer to minutes for full discussion.)
 
VOTE: 8-1.  Mayor Furr voted no.  Commissioner Geller voted in the affirmative telephonically.

Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body, shall transmit proposed amendments to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan to designated State agencies for review.

This action adopts a Resolution to transmit Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment, PC 18-2, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed map amendment, PC 18-2, at its October 26, 2017, public hearing, and recommended approval, subject to the applicant's voluntary commitments regarding  transportation improvements, meeting with School Board staff regarding safety issues and contributing $500 per additional dwelling unit towards affordable housing (Vote of the Planning Council; 11-4; Yes: Blattner, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Udine, Williams and Stermer. No: Blackwelder, Good, Graham and Grosso)

From Agricultural to Irregular (3.21) Residential

Approximately 120.0 acres; generally located on the southwest corner of Southwest 172 Avenue and Bass Creek Road.
