THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS/BOARDS SECTION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THIS ITEM.
The Homeless Continuum of Care Board (HCOC) is composed of 29 voting/nonvoting members, including 20 members who are nominated by specific entities for approval by the Board of County Commissioners. One voting member category provides for a United Way of Broward County representative to serve on the HCOC.
The following nominations have been received by the Human Services Department (HSD) for appointment to the HCOC pursuant to Section 12.153(a)4, Broward County Administrative Code:
- Keith Costello nominated as the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Representative.
- Scott DiMarzo nominated as the North Broward Hospital District Representative.
- Silvia Quintana nominated as the Broward Health Coalition Representative.
Mr. Costello was nominated by the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce to serve on the HCOC on November 20, 2017. Mr. DiMarzo was nominated by the North Broward Hospital District to serve on the HCOC on October 24, 2017. Ms. Quintana was nominated by the Broward Health Coalition to serve on the HCOC on October 19, 2017.
The County Attorney has determined that Mr. Costello, Mr. DiMarzo and Ms. Quintana qualify for appointment. See Exhibits 1, 2 and 3 attached.
