Fills a vacancy on the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board.

Nominates Seth Allan Hyman to the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board.

The Medical Marijuana Advisory Board has three at-large positions. One of the three positions is a “Consumer Advocate” category and the other two positions do not have a specific categorical designation. Commissioner Rich has nominated Seth Allan Hyman for appointment at-large to serve on the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board in the category of “Consumer Advocate.”

A separate item on the December 5, 2017 agenda seeks to direct the Office of the County Attorney to draft an Ordinance changing the at-large “Consumer Advocate” position to an at-large “Qualified Patient Advocate” position. If Mr. Hyman is appointed to the Advisory Board as a “Consumer Advocate,” it is the intention of this motion that, if the Ordinance is later amended to change that position to “Qualified Patient Advocate,” Mr. Hyman would retain his appointment and serve as the “Qualified Patient Advocate.”
