Why Action is Necessary
It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners prior to transmittal of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.
What Action Accomplishes
The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for December 5, 2017, to consider transmittal of proposed map amendment PC 18-2, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed map amendment, PC 18-2, at its October 26, 2017, public hearing and recommended approval, subject to the applicant's voluntary commitments regarding affordable housing, transportation improvements and meeting with School Board safety staff (Vote of the Planning Council; 11-4; Yes: Blattner, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Udine, Williams and Stermer. No: Blackwelder, Good, Graham and Grosso.):

AMENDMENT PC 18-2
Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Miramar

From Agricultural to Irregular (3.21) Residential

Approximately 120.0 acres; generally located on the southwest corner of Southwest 172 Avenue and Bass Creek Road.
