Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL

On February 9, 2016 (Item No. 4), the Board of County Commissioners approved the Local Agency Program Agreement between Broward County and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), providing for $931,900 to the County toward the estimated $4,464,768 construction cost for improvements to Ravenswood Road from Stirling Road to Griffin Road. The project improvements include the reconstruction of a two-lane divided roadway with new drainage and Complete Streets elements including sidewalks, bicycle lanes and landscaping. Due to unanticipated weather impacts, the project is currently scheduled for completion beyond the expiration date of the original agreement.

This Supplemental Agreement No. 1 will extend the agreement from December 31, 2017 to June 30, 2018 to allow the FDOT to continue funding the improvements through the anticipated completion date of the project. The project is currently 80% complete.

The Supplemental Agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney and the Risk Management Division.
