MOTION TO ENACT Ordinance adopting a Small Scale land use plan amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, PC 17-11, in the City of Pompano Beach, to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan (Commission District 4), the substance of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A SMALL SCALE AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ACTION: (T-3:16 PM) Filed proof and enacted the Ordinance to become effective as provided by law. (Refer to minutes for full discussion.)

VOTE: 9-0. Commissioners Geller and Holness voted in the affirmative telephonically.

Why Action is Necessary

Pursuant to Section 163.3184(11), Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

What Action Accomplishes

The Ordinance adopts Broward County "Small Scale" Land Use Plan map amendment PC 17-11, in accordance with Section 163.3187(1), Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed small scale amendment, PC 17-11, and recommended approval at its August 24, 2017, public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 13-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Graham, Grosso, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Ryan, Seiler, Williams and Stermer), and also recommended approval at its September 28, 2017, public hearing (Unanimous: 14-0; Blackwelder, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Seiler, Udine, Williams and Stermer):

AMENDMENT PC 17-11
Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Pompano Beach

From Commerce to Irregular (35.9) Residential

Approximately 3.4 acres; generally located between State Road A1A and the Intracoastal Waterway at Riverside Drive.
