Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL

Miramar Parkway from SW 69th Way to SW 68th Avenue is a County road located in the City of Miramar. The City desires to undertake a project to improve this road at no cost to the County. The project includes installation of new decorative roadway and pedestrian-level lighting, new landscaping and irrigation system; construction of bike lanes; replacement of concrete sidewalks and pavers; new ADA ramps and decorative crosswalks; median landscape improvements; drainage system improvements; roadway re-paving; and addition of pavement marking and signage within project limits. The landscaping improvements shall incorporate a minimum 50% native species by plant types and shall follow the Broward County NatureScape program and Florida-Friendly Landscaping principles.

Approval of Motions A and B will allow the City to undertake the improvement project. Upon project completion, the City will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the landscaping and irrigation improvements and the installed roadway lighting system, including all utility costs.

The agreements have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney and the Risk Management Division.
