A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE BID BY THE SOUTH FLORIDA COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP HOST COMMITTEE TO HOST THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN SOUTH FLORIDA IN 2021, 2023, OR 2024; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The bid to host the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in South Florida requires cooperation and support from Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.

Generates support for South Florida to host the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in 2021, 2023, or 2024.

South Florida desires to host the College Football Playoff National Championship Game ("Championship Game") in 2021, 2023, or 2024. Hosting the Championship Game is expected to generate hundreds of millions of dollars for the host communities, boost local tourism, and enhance Broward County's image as a major sports destination.

South Florida has hosted Championship Games on numerous occasions, most recently in 2013, 2009, 2005, and 2001. Broward County supported the hosting of prior Championship Games by providing, among other things, grant funding and in-kind support.
