Broward County Commission Regular Meeting

MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2017-484 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on November 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., to consider enactment of an Ordinance adopting a Small Scale land use plan amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan of the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, PC 17-11, located in the City of Pompano Beach (Commission District 4), the substance of which is as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A SMALL SCALE AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ACTION:  (T-10:49 AM)  Approved.
 
VOTE: 9-0.

It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to be held subsequent to receipt of a recommendation from the Broward County Planning Council prior to adoption of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for November 7, 2017, to consider adoption of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 17-11, which is a small scale amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan.

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed small scale amendment, PC 17-11, and recommended approval at its August 24, 2017, public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 13-0; Blackwelder, Blattner, DiGiorgio, Ganz, Gomez, Graham, Grosso, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Ryan, Seiler, Williams and Stermer), and also recommended approval at its September 28, 2017, public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 14-0; Blackwelder, Brunson, Castillo, DiGiorgio, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Rosenof, Rosenzweig, Seiler, Udine, Williams and Stermer):

AMENDMENT PC 17-11
Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Pompano Beach

From Commerce to Irregular (35.9) Residential

Approximately 3.4 acres; generally located between State Road A1A and the Intracoastal Waterway at Riverside Drive.

Further, if the County Commission sets the public hearing, the full amendment report and associated attachments will be included as an exhibit to the public hearing item.
