With a competitive and strategically located air and sea port, with direct rail connectivity, Broward County enjoys unique advantages key to becoming a global hub for domestic and international trade opportunities. This event will increase our on-going ability to restore the economy, rebuild our communities and sustain our low unemployment performance while serving to strengthen our ties with overseas interests and boosting Broward County and the South Florida economy.
Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness traveled internationally as a Broward County Commissioner from September 7-13th, 2017 for a trade mission and business development trip to Bogota and Medellin, Colombia. While there, Commissioner Holness attended meetings at the U.S. Embassy, met with elected officials and business owners, attended cultural exhibitions and business conferences in Bogota and Medellin, and several municipalities in Antioquia, Colombia. In addition, he was able to promote the 2017 Broward County Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo (FITCE) scheduled for October 17-18th, 2017 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center, an annual County-sponsored event under the supervision of the Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD). This trade mission and business development trip was to further encourage attendance at FITCE, boost Florida-Colombia trade and promote tourism and business development. |
