Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIVISION  RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

Approval of this item permits the County Administrator to execute documents related to the Hurricane Irma emergency response.

Response to Hurricane Irma has required, and will likely continue to require, execution of agreements with various agencies, most significantly the State of Florida's Division of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. These agreements can be time sensitive and failure to execute in a timely manner may preclude participation in programs or delay recovery efforts. Authorizing the County Administrator to execute such agreements reduces administrative delays associated with processing these agreements for execution by the Board.
