MOTION TO CONSIDER APPROVAL of a plat entitled Brightline Parking Garage (045-MP-16). (Commission District 7)

ACTION:  (T-10:38 AM)  Approved the plat subject to staff’s recommendations as outlined in the Development Review Report.

 
VOTE: 8-0.  Commissioner Ryan was not present.
 
ACTION:  (T-10:48 AM)  The Board reconsidered the Consent Agenda to pull Supplemental Item Number 70 which had been previously transferred to the Consent Agenda.  (Refer to minutes for full discussion.)

Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances (The Broward County Land Development Code) requires plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will assure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.

The applicant is requesting approval of a plat application to develop a 220,000 square foot parking garage for the Brightline passenger rail station and 2,000 square feet of commercial use on approximately 1.0 acres, located on the south side of Northwest 2 Street between Northwest 3 Avenue and Northwest 4 Avenue, in the City of Fort Lauderdale. See attached Development Review Report.
