MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2017-398 of the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, Florida, accepting a donation from Pet Supermarket, Inc., in the amount of $12,069, to be deposited in the Animal Care Trust Fund to be used for the funding of Foster Care programs of the Animal Care and Adoption Division; authorizing the County Administrator to take all administrative and budgetary actions required to implement same; providing for severability and an effective date.

Section 18.63 of the Administrative Code states that donations to the County of $500 or more shall be accepted by a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners

Authorizes the Animal Care and Adoption Division to accept a donation in the amount of $12,069.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This item furthers the Division's goal to: promote responsible pet ownership, animal care, and community safety; increase adoptions and awareness of Division services; develop and implement life-saving programs that will increase positive outcomes for shelter animals; and reduce pet over-population.

The Animal Care and Adoption Division has received a generous donation from Pet Supermarket, Inc. of Sunrise, Florida in the amount of $12,069. These funds will be used to augment Foster Care programs of the Animal Care and Adoption Division.
