On April 12, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution 2016-391, creating the Part 150 Study Coordination Committee. The Part 150 Study Coordination Committee consists of nine members; a Chairperson appointed by the Board of the Broward County Commissioners; and a representative from each of the following political subdivisions: cities of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Dania Beach, Plantation, Weston, Cooper City, and Town of Davie and Southwest Ranches. Each representative will have an alternate representative.
The purpose of the Part 150 Study Coordination Committee is to provide a centralized process to facilitate dissemination and sharing of information that is developed during the Part 150 Study. The purpose of the study is to analyze existing and future airport noise exposures, identify appropriate land uses surrounding the airport, and recommend noise compatibility planning and programs consistent with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements and the Board’s policy directives.
Ms. Castro is currently a member of the Part 150 Study Coordination Committee as the representative from the City of Dania Beach. Her nomination as Chairperson of the committee would be contingent upon her resignation from her current position on the committee. The City of Dania Beach would be able to designate a new representative on the Part 150 Study Coordination Committee. |
